A Message from your PTA PresidentDear Parents, Staff, and Friends, The Covington Elementary PTA would like to extend a warm
welcome to all of our newcomers, and a welcome back to our returning parents,
staff, friends and PTA members. We look
forward to all of the exciting events CES and the CES PTA have planned this
year. ***The PTA is the world’s largest & oldest organization working on behalf of children, youth, and families.*** The Covington
Elementary PTA had a productive year last year.
Here are a few things we accomplished, we raised money to purchase the
following; AR books, AR testing computer program, Just say no t-shirts, Art
Fest, calendars for all staff, transportation grants to school to cover
overages on field trips, 3rd grade trip to N.O. we sponsor lunches for the
teachers and staff three times a year to show our appreciation for their
dedication to our children, provided parent/teacher folders to every class for
every child, purchased the supplies for our Dad’s Club Spruce Up Day, fishing
t-shirts, underwear and socks for the office.
A playground equipment fund was set up from last school year so that we
will have enough money to purchase new equipment this year. We paid for all of these things with our
portion of the dues we collect from members, donations to the CES PTA, Box
Tops, Labels for Education, and fundraisers like Pennies for Progress and the
Raffle. None of which would have been
possible without our supporters. ***Did you know membership dues & additional donations are tax deductible?*** This year we are going to show the District PTA and State
PTA that Covington Elementary is striving to be bigger and better than
ever. Anyone can join parents,
grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and businesses. Remember corporate members count for 5 to 20
memberships depending on the level, so ask your employer or business owners you
know to join. You can find a corporate
membership form at the front office or you may click here and print one out. Most people that don’t join the PTA don’t join because they were ***NEVER ASKED!!!*** We are currently looking for people to help out. If you or someone you know might be
